Dated photos and a service record texted after every job.
Pay by card when the work is done. No deposit.
Skip the dealer wait
Your boat stays home. You stay on the water.
In busy season, dealer service appointments are often weeks out. Then you trailer the boat in and it can sit there for weeks more. I come to you, and the job gets done the same day.
Built by hand
Custom seat base, start to finish
I framed, carpeted and fitted this seat base for a wake boat myself. The same care goes into every oil change and winterization.
The shop on wheels
Everything rides in the truck
Fluids, filters, pumps, antifreeze, drain pans and spill pads come with me. Service happens right where your boat sits, and I leave the spot cleaner than I found it.

Questions
Do I really need to winterize in Texas?
Most winters are mild, but North Texas still gets hard freezes. Water left in a ballast pump, heater core or engine block can freeze and crack it overnight.
Can you work at a marina or storage lot?
Yes, where outside technicians are allowed. Some marinas and storage lots restrict outside service, so please confirm with your marina or lot that we can work on your boat there before booking.
What do you need from me?
Access to the boat and, ideally, a hose spigot nearby. We bring the tools, fluids and spill pads. You don't need to be home.
How do I pay?
Card, Apple Pay or Google Pay when the job is done. No deposit for standard service.
About
Hi, I'm Brett
I started Ballast & Block Marine because boat owners shouldn't have to trailer to a dealer and wait weeks for routine service. I bring the shop to you.
I focus only on inboards and sterndrives, so your boat gets someone who knows its systems. Beyond routine service, I also handle running gear work like rudder and prop replacement. Ask for a quote.
- 01I do every job myself. The person you book is the person who shows up.
- 02You approve the price before I start. No surprise charges.
- 03I follow the engine maker's procedures and send photos of the work.
